Please keep in mind that from June to October, daytime temperatures can easily reach 100 °F (37.78 °C) and beyond. Hiking in extreme heat can be dangerous and even life-threatening; if there is a heat advisory in effect, do not go hiking.

Pioneertown

Pioneertown was founded in 1946 by a group of Hollywood investors, including actors Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. They dreamed of creating an Old West set that was actually a town worth visiting, with 1880s-style false-front façades but interiors that had stuff for visitors to see and do too. Up went (from the outside) frontier stables, saloons, and jails; inside, they housed ice cream parlors, bowling alleys, and motels. The most happening place is Pappy and Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace. This must-see desert find also serves up awesome ribs, plus classic Santa Maria barbecue, burgers, sandwiches and salads. View Map

'Forever Marilyn' has returned to Greater Palm Springs and can be found at the corner of Museum Way and Belardo Road at Downtown Park in Palm Springs. Village Fest takes place in downtown Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive every Thursday night. The street is closed to vehicular traffic and is transformed into a festive, pedestrian street fair. Indian Canyons Golf Resort

Indian Canyons Golf Resort has been the jewel of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley since 1961 and is set on 550 acres on the Agua Caliente Indian Reservation.
